Red gone wrong

Nothing wrong with the dress - its one of the many stock standard one shoulder fitted short numbers that have been doing the rounds for many a months now but there is nothing about this look that pleases me. Can't quite figure whether its the shoes or the gaunt face that bothers me the most but nothing about this oh so predictable look works for me. Your thoughts?

In Blugirl

Fiery in red looks Twinkle Khanna in this little Blugirl number on the cover of the latest issue of Grazia. Loving the shorter hair do and the colour of the dress which looks much nicer on the mag cover rather than the orange version on the runway.

In her interview for the magazine Twinkle shares her style mantra saying " A woman has to always go by her structure and make the most of it, rather than try to dress like someone else. I love flowing dresses, but I can't really wear them because they overwhelm my frame. For me, everything has to be cinched at the waist."

On the subject of red look out for my sister's wedding ensemble ...coming very soon!

Back to writing...

After a brief hiatus (well not that brief, just under two months to be precise!) I am back to writing :).

Firstly, apologies and much love to my regulars who diligently kept checking in to see if there was a new post. Thank You. Sounds cheesy but if it wasn't for you and great fashion to comment about, blogging won't be fun. To fill you in briefly on what I have been up to in the past two months, I had a month in India to celebrate my sister's wedding and what a wedding it was! Back to Melbourne then to move into my own house after living in rentals for years, again feels amazing and then finally back to the grind that is the corporate world to earn some moolah. Life seems to be settling again and I got some lovely notes asking where I was and why I wasn't writing. So here I am :).

I figure my first post for the year has to be truly special - to cover someone special;wearing something very special. So here I go with the wedding series as promised.

My lovely gorgeous sister in all her glory wearing a stunning Manav Gangwani brocade lehenga for the cocktail/engagement party that she teamed with very chic and sleek diamond and ruby jewels and matching glass bangles. The green, purple and orange colour combination looked amazing and I love the net dupatta against the heavy brocade top and skirt. The makeup is M.A.C.

She looks so tall and model like, don't you all agree?
Here's wishing her happiness forever and ever.

Over the next few days look out for your regular celeb fashion fix and more on my sister's wedding.

Priyanka Chopra at Miss World 2009

Resplendant in a white sari was former Miss World Priyanka Chopra at the Miss World 2009 pageant. The gold and silver embellished sari is most likely a Manish Malhotra who is Priyanka's designer of choice when it comes to Indian wear. She looked fantastic I thought. India's representative Pooja Chopra made it to the Top 16.

For the chic files

On popular demand Sonam Kapoor tweeted the breakdown of her very chic outfit that she wore to the 'Triumph Lingerie Show'. The breakdown namely is an Alice + Olivia necklace tee, pants from Opening Ceremony, bag and shoes by Jimmy Choo. I love the pulled back hair and smokey eye makeup and bonus points for going jewellery-less so that the necklace tee can be the statement piece.

Of teaming suit jackets with denim

For men there is no easier way to pull off a semi-formal look than team a black suit jacket with your favourite well fitted jeans. Riteish Deshmukh and Ranvir Shorey show us how at the 'Triumph Lingerie Show'. Between the two my vote would go to Riteish as the Ranvir's handle bars are kinda scary. Let's hope this is a look for one of Ranvir's films as it ain't making a style statement in any way!

Louis spotting

The second Louis post in a row - this time round spotted Manasi Scott totting the Louis Vuitton Mahina XL at Deepika Gehani's brunch do in Mumbai.

In Louis Vuitton

This Louis outfit from the Fall 09 collection which has graced many editorials and celebs in real life now makes it way on the latest cover of Verve worn by Priyanka Chopra. I love love love this outfit infact the entire collection has been one of my favourites from Louis Vuitton. Its a great young look for Priyanka and I for one sure am glad that the hideous blue streaks are no where in sight. You can check out Style to view the entire collection.
