If you’re reading this from the US, get ready to hunt down and bag a Xenomorph head as a trophy. OK, we mean buy, not go full Predator. Unveiling a terrifyingly awesome xenomorph popcorn bucket for the upcoming release of Alien: Romulus (premiering August 16), the novelty bucket is a must-have for hardcore fans of the franchise.
Directed by Fede Álvarez, famous forEvil Dead and the Don’t Breathe movies, Alien: Romulus tells the tale of a group of colonizers who try to repeat Ali Baba’s terrible mistake of stealing from places they shouldn’t, only to end up facing a xenomorph infestation that is likely to rip them apart in gory ways. Set between the original Ridley Scott’s Alien and James Cameron’s sequel, Alien: Romulus looks like a hopeful addition to the series after the lukewarm prequels.
The Alien: Romulus Xenomorph popcorn bucket seems to be the latest in a line of awesomely novel movie themed items that have become popular again with the masses. From Dune’s viral sandworm bucket and Deadpool and Wolverine’s comical, yet weirdly fascinating head(?) bucket, it looks like this one will find its way onto becoming a much sought after collectible, complete with popcorn for brains and melted butter for xenomorph drool.
If you’re in India, however, there’s little to no chance of snagging these, so try and bribe your overseas friends and family into getting you one, although it might be a little difficult to explain it at airport security. After all, it’s not everyday security expects to see a severed head in a passenger’s baggage. Right? Right?
