Mumbai was buzzing with creativity and style from March 13th to 17th as Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI (Fashion Design Council of India) took centre stage. This year’s edition proved to be a true celebration of Indian fashion, showcasing a blend of dazzling displays, innovative collaborations, and a focus on sustainability.
The Jio World Convention Centre transformed into a fashion hub, where established designers and rising stars alike presented their latest collections. From the opening act, Lakmé presented LFW Edition: Fashion X Beauty Trends, curated by Perclers Paris, to the sustainable presentations on Sustainable Fashion Day, the event offered a glimpse into the future of fashion – one that’s both stylish and eco-conscious.
Sustainability remained a key theme throughout the week. The R|Elan presented the Circular Design Challenge showcased the winning collection, while designers like Yavi, TIL, Inca, Gaurang, and Akaaro by Gaurav Jai Gupta impressed with their commitment to ethical and eco-friendly practices.
Beyond the runway shows, Lakme Fashion Week offered a platform for industry veterans and newcomers to connect. Workshops, launches, and talent discovery programs provided a launchpad for aspiring designers and a breeding ground for future fashion trends.
This year’s Lakme Fashion Week wasn’t just about clothes – it was a celebration of Indian beauty and lifestyle. The event served as a reminder of the country’s rich textile heritage and its ever-evolving fashion scene. As the final curtain fell on the 2024 edition, one thing was certain: Lakme Fashion Week continues to be a trendsetter, shaping the future of Indian fashion.
